Michael Putney, M.D.
Dr. Michael Putney has always enjoyed athletic activities, from waterskiing and snow skiing to bicycle riding, tennis, and softball. That strong interest in sports—and a few minor injuries sustained along the way—was an important factor in his decision to become an orthopaedic surgeon. Today, Dr. Putney specializes in arthroscopic procedures, which go hand in hand with the treatment of sports injuries.
Dr. Putney makes it a point to learn the latest orthopaedic techniques and deliver the most advanced care possible. Before recommending surgery, however, Dr. Putney always encourages patients to try conservative measures such as physical therapy or medication. He also takes the time to make sure his patients understand their condition and their options for treatment. A graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Putney is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Mu Delta Honorary Service Society, and Phi Beta Pi Medical Fraternity.
In his spare time, Dr. Putney enjoys participating in sports and athletic activities, training and hunting with his dogs, and riding his Harley.
